2018 Shoot of the Year Rules

Date to be held: September 1 & 2, 2018

Qualifying

1-Must shoot in at least 3 shoots between April and August; you can shoot more than three and top three scores will be used for qualifying.  Depending on how many qualifiers there are in each class, we will take the top 5 qualifiers.

2-Must have three scores in the same class to qualify; if you shoot any other class, those scores WILL NOT count towards Shooter of the Year qualifying.

3-It is your responsibility to know what class you are shooting if you are going to qualify for Shooter of the Year.

4-NO RANGE FINDERS or scopes with range finders if you are competing to qualify for Shoot of the Year; unless you are shooting in the known class , your score will be thrown out and you will not be able to participate for Shooter of the Year.

5-If you are shooting in the known class, you will not be able to shoot with individuals who are not in the known class.

5-Please keep an eye on the web page or Facebook for scores and to see if you are qualified for Shooter of the Year.  It is your responsibility to know if you have qualified or not.  Facebook will be the best place to check frequently for information on the Shooter of the Year/September Jamboree Shoot weekend.

Day of Competition

1-You are to register yourself on the day of competition (you have plenty of notice of what time to be at the range).

2-You need to registered by 8:45am on the day of competition; NO EXCEPTIONS!!!  This gives me time to get the groups organized and together (you are shooting with your peers, but there are times when I have to put other SOY qualifiers in with other SOY groups).

3- Registration will meet with everyone at 9am (so everyone needs to be ready to shoot after we are done meeting), to go over the rules of the course and also to let everyone know who they will be shooting with for the day.  This means no practicing after registration meets with everyone-ALL GROUPS NEED TO BE HEADING TO THE AGREED UPON SIDE OF THE GROUP.

4-Again, as listed above NO RANGEFINDERS or scopes with range finders (unless you are registered to be in the known class) are to be used during the competition, if you are caught, your score is thrown out.

5-Double score cards will be used.  The score keepers are not to keep their own scores.  The cards that have the dots will be the official card, but both cards will need to be turned in; so they can be verified. If at any time during the competition there is a conflict on what a score should be; the whole group needs to make the determination.  If one cannot be determined, someone from registration needs to be contacted and a member of the club will be come out and make the final determination.

6-In the event of a tie, a shoot off will be done at a target of the club’s choosing.  In the shoot off, yardages may not be within the max yardage.

7-You will need to stay with your group at all times.  As a group you need to decide if stops will be made and everyone’s suggestions need to be considered.

**ANY UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT (RUDENESS AND BULLYING) WILL NOT BE TOLERATED BY BIG INDIAN ARCHERS FROM ANYONE. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND NOT TO RETURN (DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY OF THE UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT).  WE ARE HERE TO HAVE FUN AND TO SET AN EXAMPLE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE ARCHERY COMMUNITY YOUNG AND OLD
